Re: Synth plugs, Nocturn, Midi keyboard and I'm bored to death..

i think there's an awful lot to be said for hardware synths: firstly, dedicated knobs for major soundshaping functions. it's simply not the same with midi controllers... secondly, you tend to use an extra analog gain stage when recording your hardware, which not only means you're immediately working...

They did, Cubase 4 was $899. Hense the discussion. 'was' being the operative word. You're comparing Live directly with Cubase, Logic etc because you personally don't use session view. Interesting idea, as you aren't utilising the main differentiating feature(s) of Live. It's like if I bought the su...

However, this just isn't the case. There is software out there which will allow you to do SOME of what Live lets you do, but there ...

Re: Mastering a rock band

My cousin has asked me (an amateur computer musician) to master his band's tracks because they've been asked to play at GC's Battle of the Bands and they need to provide 3 demos. Everything they've done up until now is pretty much from their garage which isn't so bad IMHO. So I've taken their track...

Re: 90 % piracy:Only in the gameworld or Also in the Audioworld?

Reading this, is it still really worth to develop? How to convince a future generation to actually pay for these things? by using innovative and sensible pricing and upgrade schemes, being responsive and user-friendly, working with your customers and making great software... yes, i think it is. the...
