Whoever buys the following will have a mega powerhouse of a PC geared up for music production. All you’ll need is choose an audio interface from somewhere like Digital Village (dv247.com).

Audio PC (Tower) : Spec as follows:-

Pentium IV 3.2gHz,
2gb RAM,
2 x 120gb 7200rpm hard drive ...

If not, recommend any software PC or Mac, doesn't matter can use both.

-Have it on it's own mega powerful DSP card like Pro Tools save taxing the host computers cpu.

-Include loadsa professional plugins like Logic.

I'm new to using Mac always been PC 'til now. Will I need to convert my loops to AIFF or is WAV fine?

Need advice

Taken a loan want to get some new gear.

I'm thinking about getting a macbook pro 2.33 ghz 2 gb ram next week, & I currently use a Pentium4 3.2 ghz 1gb ram.

Will there be a noticable difference in performance? I'm going to be using Logic & Ableton.

I know getting a Mac Pro (tower ...

For overheads, kick, Snare, etc.......

blank I've checked out the aural exciter. Hit the nail right on the head. My problems to do with lack of harmonics & compensating with eq which has made them sound a little brittle.

Whoa, talk about crossed-wires ...not looking for a magical plug-in either just technical advice.

Thankx for your opinion, not the info I'm after though. I already use subtractive eq to mix, & I'm not trying to imitate anyone else, just want to be able to reduce the brittle nature of say the hatz with eq whilst still retaining clarity, so they are silky smooth.

.... when I get to the mix stage, my highs (as in eq's) are sounding clear, not too harsh though, but say if I compare the sound to say P Diddy's latest album, his highs sound bright but smooth? How do I achieve this, which frequencies should I reduce to make my sound less brittle?

Thanks for the advice. I am using the NS10's as secondary monitoring. I have a set of active tuned reference 'Events' for primary monitoring, although eventually I wanna chop 'em in for some 'Adams'.
