I want to have a .txt file that would include the lyrics and chords open automatically with each song I play on Ableton.
One thought I had was to use an empty track and record a MIDI message, say a note on message. Then when that track plays the output of that track would go to MidiPipe.

I understand that there may be good reasons for Live's non-standard midi implementation.
But it's a real shame that the peculiarities are not clearly documented in the manual.
In fact, it gives the impression of unfair business practice.

I make up songs on Cubase and use Ableton to play them. That way I can vary the arrangement. I use a Roland SC-8850 for sounds.

Thanks kleine. Yes that's sure better than nothing. One thing I like is a basic arrangement list, like how many bars before the lead vocals come in, stuff like that. It helps me direct the song on stage. I have over 350 songs and there's no way I can keep track of them. But I sure would like ...

Howzit - 1st post!
I'm a gigging musician who has used QMidi for gigs for years and also have been using Live. I use Live to trigger a Roland SC-8850 sound module. I do not use audio clips in LIve, only MIDI.
