Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers

Yes. Press and hold the "Fixed Length" button to set the value. You can then toggle Fixed Length on off for fixed or infinite recordings. Another cool trick: while recording an 'infinite' recording, if you press "Fixed Length" it will loop the last X measures of your recording. This is how I work: ...

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers

Hi Jesse, thanks for your attention. Here goes one more question: With Ableton Push, can I pre-define the lenght of the clips before recording them on session view? So I just press record and then the the clip start recording, I record something, and then when it reaches the previous lenght I define...

Re: Set audio clip loop length BEFORE recording!!!!!!!

set the quantize to say 4 bars double click (it will start record AND set it to end at the quantize of say 4 bars, voila It doesn't work because you need to wait to the clip start recording, and then trying to create a melody having to think about clicking is just not inspiring... The best way woul...

Re: Ableton Push QA

With Push, will it be possible to select a drum rack cell by pressing a pad on push, and then turn a knob to scroll through different drum samples within a folder to choose which drum sample is assigned to that drum cell? Basically, this would do away with spending time making "128s" and would let ...

Re: Pre-define the length of a clip using a MIDI controller

Hi Appreciate this discussion has been around a while, but it just occured to me that this was something I'd find very useful. Im not at my Ableton PC now, so can't try to figure a workaround. But does anyone know a way of pre-defining the length of all clips, say to something standard like 4 bars....

Re: Vote for your main wishes for Live 9

I thought Reaper also use zplane's elastique pro2 as their stretch algo? That's the exact same one as live uses for complex pro. Also afaik cubase and others. Yeah... I did the research and it seems that that's true... but i don't know why in reaper even drastic time changes sounds with less artifa...

Re: Vote for your main wishes for Live 9

Politics is going on here? Not really... What I intended to do is to focus on some general whishes with the poll, and then, you say what is YOUR MOST desired implementation or improvement on Ableton Live 9. In this way we coul see what is more whished by Live's users, like priorizing one personal w...

Vote for your main wishes for Live 9

You have 10 options and can choose 6.

Comment about the options 9 and 10, if you choose them of course =)
Respect the limit of ONE thing on option 10, so we can focus on what we REALLY want, not just little things that are cool, but not really necessary for the moment =)

Re: score edition in live

and to argue "no score, we need 64 bit" is bullshit. we need both! I don't think so... I said that we don't need score editing, not because it's not usefull (in fact, it would be amazing if they put score editing WITH other important things), but because it seems that each version of Live NEVER rea...

Re: Ableton Intro Android + iPad version

Please no, IPad, IPhone, Mobile Stuff is so much overrated. Yeah... I must agree with that... -1 for mobile stuff Please Ableton... concentrate your time and effort on a Live 9 with 64-bit, comping, better browser options for organizing samples, vst, vsti, projects, clips and so on... So it keep th...

Re: 64 bit

Yeah... Live is AMAZING but things like 64-bit, comping, a more customisable browser, automation curves (Bézier curve) and so on, makes it loose so much potential. The 64-bit thing is just more than necessary, if you work with lots of sampled instruments, or record lots of tracks with lots of effect...

Re: Ableton STUDIO

+1 I don't know the implications of this (commercially for example) but this could be great! But I think that Ableton don't want to compete with other "standart" softwares in studios like Logic and Pro Tools... I guess that Ableton Live untill NOW is like a tool to use with other populars softwares ...
