So... to create a usable fix for this problem I created a MIDI script that restores the Volume, on the VR700. This script will resides on the desktop as the MIDI-OX Play Bar which apparently stays active even when MIDI-OX program has been closed.
1) Create an Ableton Midi File that sends a volume ...

Re: Roland VR700 Organ sound stops when closing Ableton
Finally got the MIDI-OX and Yoke installed, but not without much pain, see notes below.
Initially I was not seeing any traffic to the VR700 from Ableton when I closed it? Not sure why, I did see all the traffic going to the VR700 from Ableton when running the sequencer though, so I know I have ...

Re: Roland VR700 Organ sound stops when closing Ableton
So I downloaded MIDIOX and experiencing some bazaar behavior.
I will not recognize Ableton, nor can I get Ableton to recognize MIDIOX regardless of the order in which I launch the programs.
Further more if I launch Ableton first when trying to add any device except the M-Box I get a message from ...

Re: Roland VR700 Organ sound stops when closing Ableton
Likely your right, but the USB Midi Driver in the Roland as far as I can figure is not separately update-able. As I indicated before the VR700 is running the latest OS.

Re: Roland VR700 Organ sound stops when closing Ableton
no, but not sure what I would do with the info? Maybe put a midi filter between. Do they make such a device as a stand alone or would I have to somehow interrupt the MIDI messages coming out of the specific USB port that is connected to the VR700 and filter the offending message out? This may also ...

Re: Interminit Distortion Live 9 Fast Track Pro ASIO Driver
guess I need to follow up on this problem.
Solved by ditching the Mbox Fast Track Pro and getting a Mbox Quad.

Roland VR700 Organ sound stops when closing Ableton
I have been fight this problem for sometime now and have not been able to resolve it or find a work around other than unplugging the USB MIDI cable when closing Ableton.

Re: Interminit Distortion Live 9 Fast Track Pro ASIO Driver
It is easy to upgrade and downgrade back.
Just keep a backup of your projects in the current version, because projects saved with newer versions can't be opened in previous versions, depending on the upgrade.
Otherwise is really safe.
You can even install different versions side by side.

Re: Interminit Distortion Live 9 Fast Track Pro ASIO Driver
hi i dont know if this will help but have you tried moving the buffer offset setting all the way to the right on the asio4all driver
that helped me with crackling and distortion
Thanks for the input, but this was not the typical crackling and distortion problem, rather massive distortion upon ...

Re: Interminit Distortion Live 9 Fast Track Pro ASIO Driver
It would appear that the driver I had loaded for Windows 7 for the Fast Track does not play with ASIO nicely, (works with XP fine). I purchased a M-Track quad and so far it is playing well. The control panel is different (not on the tool bar anymore) and now only accessible from Ableton/Options ...

Re: Interminit Distortion Live 9 Fast Track Pro ASIO Driver
I get no response from anyone here?
Ableton has thrown the usual bone, upgrade to 9.7. Read through the release notes, and this specific problem was not addressed, nor did Ableton indicate it was. Little reluctant to upgrade and create 10 new problems, as for me I am not having any other issues ...

Re: Roland VR-700 Midi Controller problems
With the VR-700 the factory preset for controllers is channel 16. If you change it to 1 (the Organ) Midi channel, than controller 7 volume no longer works.

Roland VR-700 Midi Controller problems
I posted this over on the Roland boards:
I started integrating the VR-700 into my setup, I'm using it with Ableton 8 live lite.
There appears to be some issues with midi controllers.
I specifically want to change the "Rotor Speed" controller 80, for channel 1, the organ sound.
