I wish it was that simple. I have an 8 core with 8gig of ram. I don't think I can get bigger! My point is, why is Ableton such a cpu hog. As said, Im not blowing logics 'trumpet' here as I prefer live's workflow. In logic I never cave in my system, in live, 10 tracks ...

Thanks for the comment but.. sample rate is ok.. Im coming from using logic and there are some real serious issues with the CPU usage in ableton.

Please sort out the memory issues. In logic I could run 80 channels each going into at least 3 busses, huge amount of plug-ins + very full on master plugin chain etc.. with CPU only ...

Thanks for the suggestion.. but it does the same thing (even though it floats). If i put on master, then click on another channel it disappears. Silly really. cheers mate..

I urgently need floating plugin windows... In particular, the spectrum analyzer. Eg: when I put it on the master, but then tweak a track, it disappears, so when I open one on the channel Im working on, it only shows me that channel and not what's going on with the rest of the mix, I then group stuff ...

I would like ableton to be my master and logic as slave.. can this be done, or is this a logic issue? Its very annoying that when in rewire, I cannot use 3rd party plugs in ableton. Ableton.. would you be so cool to enable the spectrum analyser to be detached so it 'floats'... If I attach it to the master, then click on a channel, it disappears.. rendering it a pointless plugin. Obviously if I then put the spectrum analyser on another channel and then click on another, that one ...
