Now, I'm back at that place, which fell apart since I left (they didn't fill my position).

Touch screen LCD?
Hello,
I'm about to buy a 15" Macbook Pro and figured it would be great to complement it with a touchscreen monitor so that I can have some great input choices.
I can't find any that seem to be clearly compatible with OSX or that have more than two touch points.
Does anyone have any suggestions ...

Re: Dedicated processing for ableton?
if i well remember UAD has a PCMCIA option, Powercore is Firewire, i used one with pcmcia to FW.
it's a matter of taste, imo TC electronic is more neutral and transparent, very good for reverbs and dynamics.
UAD is maybe a bit more stable, add more 'character', coloring more the sound. depends on ...

Re: Dedicated processing for ableton?
the solutions to external process are only
_DSP card (powercore/UA/wave ect) but processing only compatibles VSTs
_network spread computers(Fx teleport like)
but booth will increase latency as needing extra buffers (but will reduce cpu load).
of course a Raid solution will increase speed ...

Windows PC.
Your reply seems to be contradictory:
No, there is no way to have dedicated hardware perform processing:
"?? that's not correct. Sound is processed via your computer's cpu and sometimes RAM."

Hello,
I'm looking to get rid of my quad-core desktop and opt to move to a laptop with much less processing power.
I'm attempting to do research, but is it correct that sound signal processing will take place on dedicated hardware (such as an external sound card)? Would this include processing of ...

Re: Korg MicroKontrol - New Python Control Surface Script
To I take it this works with Live 8 then? That's good, as I was only able to test the script with L7 when writing it.
What about Kontrol49 use? Did anyone try amending the SYSEX_HEADER as suggested by mdk? That should work, but again, I can't test it and be sure.
Glad people have found this ...

Re: Korg MicroKontrol - New Python Control Surface Script
willyc,
Is it possible that the messages "generated" by wacKMK_B can be programmed to be sent by the controller itself (i have a kontrol49)? Have you looked into actually sending "a scene" with the respective button values to the controller?

Having device's midi clock tempo sync with Live?
Hello,
I recently began using the Korg Kontrol49 controller with Live (actually, i'm really starting out fresh on everything, midi, Live, and music production included).
After some investigation with MIDI-OX, it appears that there is a function of the Kontrol49 that send MIDI clock sync messages ...
