What about Kontrol49 use? Did anyone try amending the SYSEX_HEADER as suggested by mdk? That should work, but again, I can't test it and be sure.

Glad people have found this useful. I know I have.
willyc,

I just tested this, and it seems to send the "enter native mode" sysex message; as all of the "scene" settings clear. But there is no in or out from Live 8.1.1. Are there any other encoding changes that need to be made? See http://codepaste.net/sgeuxr

Look forward to getting this going with the K49. Maybe I'll write my own working off this info http://ruinwesen.com/blog?id=72

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

You might also want to have a look here, if you're interested in python MIDI remote scripting:

Thanks you Hanz. That's obviously a very thorough and easily read guide. Appreciated!

Do you have any experience using maple midi instead of midiyoke to do your routing? I run Vista, and midiyoke (although I attempted to hack the driver into being an active device(s)) doesn't work; but maple midi does.

I had communicated with the original creator via Email/PM, reporting that changing the unique "initialization string" didn't work. He had given me newer versions of the script, but I never got around to developing/debugging, and they did not work out of the box. If you have python experience, I strongly suggest you contact him for the scripts.

Let me know if you get anywhere, as I'll passively be working on it when I have time :)

Peace,

Matt

Yea me too! :D

My past 10 months I switched jobs three times (permanent jobs) and ended up back at the job I had before I left it originally.

Now, I'm back at that place, which fell apart since I left (they didn't fill my position).

So... maybe, in a few months... after I buy this sweet 21" iMac, move out of this shitty apartment on the upper east side, back to park slope brooklyn... I'll look at this script and try to adapt it.

Your continued patience and interest is appreciated.

Crisis averted! turns out the pads of this KMK are stiffer than a fish in a cold pair of long johns!!! :? a firm whack and the pads function as they should!!! if a little unresponsive!!!

I have a Kontrol 49, no problems using the scripts after the sysex change.
Since the start of this year I've been getting into this Python stuff. Very nice to work with.
These wacKMK scripts and Hanz' stuff have helped a lot. Many thanks.

The Kontrol 49 does have very insensitive pads. You can translate the values with midiox or bomes. The Midi Effect 'Velocity' can also come in handy at times.

I didn't like the need for two controlsurface slots and an extra midi port to do the routing between the two scripts (wacKMK A & B).
I think this can easily be simplified if you catch the incoming midi in the B script, before the baseclass gets it, not in handle_sysex, but by overriding receive_midi. Do your translations there instead of in the A script and send the result to ControlSurface.receive_midi.
This way, you won't need the A script or the extra midi port.
It seems the sensitivity issue also goes away. Pads become like buttons.

If this solution is not already out there, then if anybody wants it, I could post it.

I put it up here.
http://members.ziggo.nl/claudlex/LX_wacKMK_B.zip

Replace the existing file with the one in the zip and it should work (for both MK and K49).
Make sure you have a backup of the original etc.

It hope it's okay with the original developers that I put it out there.
