The plugin that emulates mp3/digital compression?
I read in soundonsound about a vst that you can slap on you master bus to try how your master will sound with x amount of digital file compression in real time. What was the name of it? Been searching like a madman through my magazines but I simply cant seem to find it!

Ableton Live and Windows 8 compatibility
Windows 8 has been around as a release preview for some time now and the new operating system is due to be released very soon. What does it look like on the compatibility front regarding this? Is it safe to install the release preview and Live 8.3.4 and expect a rather stable system?

Rename live set?
Seriously, why isn't there a feature that simply lets me rename the live set while having it open? It drives me nuts when I'm organizing my live-set folder!

I was also searching for this feature some time ago, the beat repeat effect is what your're looking for!
This is how you should configure it to behave like the EFX unit:

Why is there only a peak meter in the session view?

This little buddy is the only reason I ever press TAB and switch over to session view, is there any way to get it in arrangement mode? I did a search and found nothing....

Re: Why does sending my track to WAV make it sound terrible?
Even with the standard (16bit/44.1khz) settings, it shouldn't sound different from what you hear inside the DAW. You sure you haven't accidentally checked the "convert to mono" button? Do you have any EQ turned on in your playback program (foobar/itunes/winamp etc) that could alter the sound ...

Re: Monitor hum
So you think that the firewire cable is the problem here? Should I get a new more expensive one?
No.
I'd like to know exactly how the audio cable that connects the Saffire to the speakers is wired. In particular, is the Saffire end a TS or a TRS connector? If you don't know the difference, please ...

Re: Monitor hum
I'd like an answer to this one too! I have Genelec 8040 hooked to a focusrite saffire LE interface. As soon as I disconnect the interface cable (firewire) the noise is gone.
Aha! I'm guessing that the Saffire gets its chassis ground from the Firewire cable, which gets it from the computer, which ...

Professional mixing technicians?
Hey there,
Even though I enjoy mixing my own stuff and put a lot of effort in it, sometimes I'd love to hear how one of those true professionals with lots and lots of years and experience would do it. Is there any possibility at all to get some guy to do it before (or even without - or something ...

Thanks for the answer Amaury! Sadly, it doesn't work! And also, whenever I click in the "drag to zoom"-bar, ableton hangs up on me

Re: 8.2 panic - grid is f-kd up!
Hey I've tried everything here - this isn't something caused by me! The grid doesn't change no matter what I do!
Is it possible to send the project to ableton to get it fixed?
