I know there are several threads on this issue, but I am going to try and generate some new interest on the topic.
I 've been using the APC40 for a couple of years now, and recently I bought Native Instruments' Kore 2 software & controller. When I use either controller by itself, everything runs ...

Re: Dropouts/lags on a big live set played on a potent MacBook
Update:
Upgrade to Snow Leopard had no effect.
Splitting the set in two parts did the trick, all dropouts are now gone. I now have to deal with a 30 sec loading time in the middle of my set. Oh well. I probably prefer this than downsampling everything to 44 - 16.

Re: Dropouts/lags on a big live set played on a potent MacBook
Thanx for all the tips guys.
It is comforting to know that someone else is experiencing the same, this means that there IS a physical limit for Live. I would definitely like to have more info on the inside mechanics of how Live handles digital audio and what its limits are, so I can plan my sets ...

Dropouts/lags on a big live set played on a potent MacBook
Hi there! I am having some serious dropout trouble and I need your opinion.
I have a big live set that I play in gigs. It consists of about 14 tunes that use 8 tracks each = 110 tracks. When I play live I move diagonally (8 channels to the right and then down) from tune to tune using APC40 .

Re: APC40 freezes/hangs while editing.
A combination of the two. I use the native mapping for channels and clips, and I custom map the 8 pan/send knobs to control some send fx, also I map some of the buttons to different fucntions. Is there a known issue with custom mapping?

APC40 freezes/hangs while editing.
Hi all,
I have been using Live 8 with the APC40 for about a year and a half, it's a great piece of gear, it has taken my gigs to a whole new level.
I have a problem though, the APC is freezing when I am working on my sets or on my arrangements. It stops responding and remains stuck, with the LEDS ...

Re: How do you make YOUR Live set?
I basicaly mix my tunes down to 8 tracks and as many scenes as necessary, then assign as many of Live's functions as I can to my two MIDI controllers. Its basically Behringer BCR2000 for all the mixer functions (channel volume, mute, pan etc) and 1 or 2 effects per track. And Korg PadKontrol for ...

Yeah like snakedog said try to keep maximum quality throughout the process (maximum sampling frequency and maximum bits) and then only downsample when you are mastering, with dither and all. Even though your outcome is a 44.1khz 16bit file, it does make a huge difference if it comes from a higher ...
