I switch interfaces on my laptop between home and 2 different studio setups.

It would be great if Live would either:
A: default to the external interface (instead of no output or the internal speakers)
OR
B: Give me a choice of what default interfaces to use (Kind of like trusted wifi networks on ...

is it just me, or is this something that seems SO basic, that it's just weird that it hasn't been implemented? I mean, almost every keyboard and midi device can send a program change. Why would a shareware program be necessary for Live to make use of it?
Confusing.

I have a pod xt live floor pedal and I would like to be able to use the pedals to arm / unarm some synths. The pedals only send program changes though, which for some reason only show up as midi channel 1/ control7 or else pitch bend information.

is there no way to group tracks so that pulling down one fader would pull down the fader of other tracks in a group?

Perhaps I've gotten too used to working in pro tools, but this seems like pretty basic functionality working with a mixer...(at least on a computer)

I've been using Live as a host for synths and I have to say that changing sounds is a pain .

I would love to be able to send program changes via footpedal and have it change sounds like a synth or something... but that doesnt' seem to be an immediately obvious thing to do. Also, I'm really leery ...

That is helpful, but it would be nice to just see it when you click on the title bar of the track and have it just show up on the device title bar... there's certainly enough screen real estate for it (and it would also be nice to know if the device was edited / saved )

ableton is a fun program to *play* with but i can't actually work very efficiently without groups... leaves me stuck with pro tools...
and sad.
