:)
Well, thank you for all your comments so far.
It looks like a no-brainer now. It makes it easier to save up.
For the past few months, i didnt manage to get into a nice workflow because of aforementioned Ultralite issues. At least now i have a good reason to believe that if anything doesn't sound ...

HDSP Multiface II & HDSP generally; you experiences plea
It seems many people are having problems with FW cards these days.
For MOTU i read and experienced more than enough digital noise, glitches, pops, cracks and failing of ULTRALITEs than what is good for me and at the RME side i read about FW chip incompatibility issues (because Apple decided to put ...

I hate it
I hate mine too.
Its driving me nuts.
I get digital noise, and the card just stops frequently for no apparent reason. I then have to change the sample rate to get it working again. This happens only on one of my two laptops and all possible solutions offered did not fix the problem i am facing ...

Library preset management
Hi,
I am very satisfied with the new project management, but the preset library management may be improved.
Currently, i find my library is pretty much unmanageable after installing preset libraries from third parties.

Beginners question about levels
Hello there,
I have been using Live for almost a year now but keep on running into problems with my output levels, and not knowing how to properly use compressors. This mostly happens in projects with a large number of tracks. Either they are not loud enough, or the opposite.

Re: Good soundcard for OSX Intel?
Are you talking about using the Mac volume buttons on the keyboard to control volume on your Aduiophile? From what I understand, Apple often changes the way the volume keys interact with the audio hardware from version to version on OSX. . so a lot of pro and prosumer soundcards don't always ...

Good soundcard for OSX Intel?
Hello there,
I am currently using an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile, but i am not too impressed with the driver for Mac OSX on Intel.
If i use the OSX volume control (not the one within Live or other apps) i hear fragmentations of the sound that is playing. When pressing the remote control once, the ...

Solved
Hello, just to mention that i emailed Ableton support and that the issues seem sovled after following their suggestions.
They were swift and helpful too; good support.
Basically, i no longer use the external drive for storing my songs and upgraded to the latest version of Live, (5.2.1).

last two songs not overwritten..
Okay, this will be my last post for this evening.
After the songs did not load, but showed content for another song instead, i closed the song, and browsed some other songs until Live crashed. When i reopened it, the content for the last two songs (from my previous post) was back. So i guess it is ...

And again
It just happened again twice.
This is getting demotivating.
I checked the disk (external FW disk) using Disk Ultility and it passed the test without any errors.
I hope that someone at Ableton HQ can see if they can reproduce and fix this issue.

Live ate my songs on Mac OSX
This happened to me twice now:
I create a new song, use the Save As function to save the new song. Then immediately after that i open another (old) song.
Instead of opening the other song, the first song just comes back (after a sort of flash, like it is being reloaded) and the title bar ('Test 4 ...
