How to monitor volume between tracks?
Ok, another strange question from me ... sorry.
Each completed song has different audio effects and instrumentation, so when I've completed a song, it may have a different volume than the other songs which I'm grouping for a collection, or a CD. Is there a better way than just listening? I would ...

Re: Returns
The model is based on hardware method of working where you have external effects processors & a mixing board: you needed a way to get the sounds out from the mixing board: Sends, & then back into the mixing board: Returns.

2. or you can create one reverb device in a single "A Return" track and then send a copy of your 24 tracks to it using the "Send A" knobs. In that case the reverb device is shared by the tracks, you have to make just one setting for all the instruments (if there are changes to be made, you will ...

Re: Returns
Imagine you want to put the same delay on both keyboards and flute. Well you either put a delay on each one and adjust the settings for each one in an identical way, or you can put a delay on return a and send 0 - 100% of the signal from these tracks to the return.

Hi Everyone,
Please direct me to the simplist explanation of why I would want to use A Return and B Return - elementary, I'm sure ... but I never use them and probably should know what I'm missing. I just upgraded to Ableton 8 with keyboards, MIDI, and flute.
Thanks in advance

Holiday Frost - original song on my Samples page
Hi everyone,
So much to learn on my new Ableton 8, but I managed to write a few arrangements of carols and one original piece called Holiday Frost. Please feel free to send me critques, although it is hard sometimes to hear, I do want to improve.
WARNING: it is Ambient music, so please don't ...

Re: Sound is clicking - what can I do to fix it?
Thanks for your reply - I will experiment some more with that, but so far no luck. I recorded with the Auto on and effects including Compressor (pump) and Reverb. I'm starting to think that is a no-no. It was so fun to play my flute into the mic and hear the "sound effects"!

Sound is clicking - what can I do to fix it?
Watched a great tutorial here about sound quality, so I made the changes and I have this clicky, breaking up of sound issue. What do I need to do? I like the sound, but upset with the background track and its hiccups ... (I use Ableton Live 7)
Thanks in advance!

Re: Help! Fix my lo-fi ... and what does that mean?
fishmonkey,
The harp-like track is from my Roland keyboard, through the Behringer XENYX 1204USB USB Mixer. I tend to bypass that mixer and instead go to Ableton Live - might be something to look at, yes?
Thanks for listening - I didn't hear it before. Back to the drawing board ...
