he did that beat with existing beats with siultaneous notes already. he just cut it up in to small samples using the CTRL+E function and arranged it that way.

he just presses the left and right cursors while in clip views.. it nudges the brackets towards the left/right without changing the length of the loop

i own an m-audio trigger finger and i used to launch recording tracks.

my problem is that when i record, i have to push and hold down the damn pad

or else it'll stop recording and start playback. What paramaters do i need to

i'm not aware of a command to arm the selected track. if you can't have separate keys/midi for arming each one, some people leave them all armed at all times.

it won't be left armed. since the configuration is for live to ARM and then Start Recording, when you press the button once more, it will ...

if its allready in impulse, then the only think that you have to do is go to clip view... go to Envelope Tab and Select the Slot Number of the hi hat and the paramater ENVELOPE DECAY... that should do it ...

1.) create an audio track... and make sure that the I/O's can be seen... on the second second track, Click on Audio From and Select the impulse sequencer your hi-hat in. Below it select the Hihat sample. set the monitor to in.

now you've created a track ...

so you're mapping all your midi to keystrokes, even though Ableton Live accepts midi just as well?

Perhaps what he means is he wants to Control lots of keys that are mapped to live with a press of one midi trigger? :)

what you could do is go to preference>misc>behavior.

Once you're there, you should see that the Exclusive switch for Solo and Arm

are on (by default).

1.) Switch off exclusive for arm

2.) turn on Start Record on Launch

With these settings make you arm multiple tracks and record them ...

i was reading about the release of macs Boot Camp wherein you can use Windows software with your Apple computers... WOW.. are there downsides of doing this? i'm definitely buying a mac if it's as good as they say it is.

its pretty simple, some would use dummy clips for convenience's sake and if your gonna use it frequently ... but since you're new, i suggest you use clip envelopes first. the first you'd do is to drag the effect you want on the FX window. then view the clip (shift+tab) you want to play around with ...
