I know how to adjust the pitch of a sample or detune it (fine-adjusting the pitch) within a clip or in Arrangement View.
I'm starting to learn how to use Ableton Live as a DJ-tool, but right now I don't know how I can detune a specific track up or down? Do I have to open/select a sample/clip or are ...

Re: Best way to use Live with a set list
You can jump back and forth through locators - one at a time - and you can jump to a specific locater too. Using key/MIDI mapping.

How to be precise with Song Tempo-automation
I use a lot of Song Tempo-automation live for connecting to songs - sliding from the tempo of the first song to the tempo of the next song.
To be precise with the tempo (BPM) you have to define the minimum and maximum view, so you can drag all the way to the top and bottom, so that automation ...

Re: Best way to use Live with a set list
I don't know much about external MIDI sync and MIDI patch changes, but here is my experience and knowledge on the subject matter:

Re: Using standard MIDI sounds from a MIDI-file
But you don't reply to my question :-)
I know about General MIDI, but how can I find out, which General MIDI sound (number, name or both) is associated with the different tracks in the MIDI-file? The creator of the MIDI-file must have been choosing the sounds (General MIDI sounds) that's best for ...

Using standard MIDI sounds from a MIDI-file
Hi all,
I've recently downloaded a few MIDI-files - songs like "Party Rock Anthem" and more in that genre.
When I listen to them in the Chrome browser or Quicktime it sounds "quite" good with the "right" songs. But when I load it in Live (the tracks are separated in the MIDI-files) it just uses a ...

Re: Change of MIDI-instruments at certain points in arrangement?
I now see that I didn't make myself clear. Sorry about that.
The MIDI signal should go from the physical instruments and into Ableton, and in that way play the virtual instruments (e.g. keyboard sounds and drum samples).
So it's the virtual instruments/drum rack inside Ableton I want to change a ...

... and for me it sounds like this solution will make a program change for the physical instrument. But that's not what I want.
Can you be a little more specific and explain it too a not so skilled user?

What do you mean with "channel" here? The midi channel for the physical instrument (e.g. keyboard og drum pad)?Muzik 4 Machines wrote:create a track on the same channel as your instruments

It should be said too, that the keyboard and drum pad are meant to be played live. So we're not using any MIDI clips - only the MIDI instruments and a drum rack with samples.

Re: Change of MIDI-instruments at certain points in arrangement?
I don't know much about Max for Live, unfortunately. There ain't no other way to do it, which is inherent in Live?
Regarding the change of effect, I think I know how to do that with automations.
But what about the change of sound/samples?

Change of MIDI-instruments at certain points in arrangement?
Hello everybody,
I've tried to search for it and look for it in the Reference Manual, but with no luck.
It is possible to program changes, so that a MIDI-instrument (for example a keyboard sound or one or more samples in a drum rack) will change at a specific time during playback of an arrangement ...

Ability of copying "Locators"
I usually create a project for each song, I make a backing track for. When I have to play a show I make one long project with all the songs together, so there won't be waiting time for new projects to load. I usually export the different tracks and insert them into the long project afterwards. Since ...

Thanks a lot.
Now I know the correct term: pre-delay
Gonna test it with light equipment tomorrow.
