Is there a way to log the number of times a file is played?

I've been using Ableton for about 4 years now to DJ.

Recently I saw my friend had purchased Traktor and the one feature that I thought was incredibly useful and almost worth buying Traktor for to DJ with was simply in the file explorer that you can see how many times a track has been played.

As a ...

I played out last night and the sound was skipping all over the place. Every time I dragged in a song that hadn't been played for a long time it re-scanned it and the currently playing track would skip and stutter. Is there any way to fix the above problem....please help!!!

Ableton re-scans files all the time and then skips.

Hello

Let me first describe the scenario.

I'm using Ableton to DJ with and so I drag the songs into the channels and then play them out through at M-Audio 10 channel soundcard into the carious channels of a DJ mixer.

All is fine except after a while of a song not being played i.e. a month, when I ...

UC 33 Latency and other midi controlers

Hello

I'm running Ableton with a UC33 controller for DJing and I've tried to cure the latency problem from when you move a slider or nob on the UC33 to when it actually moves on the screen but to no avail. I also found on this forum that the UC33 has a built in latency to make it smoother in ...

Live 5.2 Didn't render any automation

My latest problem with Live 5.2....

I recorded a 2 hour mix using a midi controller to control the elements in the mix, i.e. the levels and eq's etc during a normal DJ mix set and then went to render it to disk as I normally do.

The problem was the rendered .wav output file comes out with no level ...

I've never installed a driver.
in the instruction manual it say the UC33e is class compliant and doesn't require a driver for Windows xp.
Shall I install one?

Its a USB lead and it seems to be fine the reason I say this is becuase the laptop and the midi controller are fixed and not moved or touched and also I've left everything still at home for an hour to test this to see if it was the lead and it always disconnects even if nothing is touched but it ...

Ableton looses the connection with the midi controller.

I've just taken the step of moving over from CD's to Ableton Live for DJing. I've just bought Ableton Live and an M-Audio UC 33 Midi Controller plus a laptop soley for the purpose of DJing live with with no other programs or aplications on the laptop to keep it stable.

I've used it a couple of ...
