I actually just reinstalled the SoftStep software v1.031. While I don't have the hardware, you can still check it out and make presets and stuff. So far I've had no preset naming or config errors. :

Again, with the SoftStep the FUCKING INCREDIBLE thing is this: whatever MIDI message routing and format you have in mind, the SoftStep was designed to do it. For instance, you can set one pad to be an expression pedal by programming a Y only movement response. You could use a CC# to handle that ...
