Did anyone ever resolve this? I heard a few pops myself not all the time but once in a while I did. The way I got it fixed was lowering the buffer size in preferences. Not sure if you guys have tried this or not but for me when I did this it seems to have fixed those pop and crackel noises.

You're in the same boat as me as far as trying to use the APC 40 for gigs only. I've had mine for few weeks now and so far no issues. I'm still battling with warping different genera of music but other then that the APC 40 has been good to me and is nice and solid.

I say go with a PC. To get into more specifics get a Intel I5 I would say I7 but right now its way over prices and not worth the money. Plus I5 is plenty to do what you wish.
