mac book pro's have 1 firewire 800 plus 1 firewire 400 if im correct.
if i was to use a firewire HDD, and a firewire soundcard.. what would be the best way to connect them.. hard disk in 800, and sound card in 400 or visa versa?
this was the reason i was looking at powerbooks, because of the card ...

I would go with hambone and make sure you get a decent hub.
Don't just get a generic brand as you are more likely to have problems if you make music and have devices midi/audio plugged into it.
Spend the little extra and you won't have to worry.
BTW I have used an XStation with a hub before without ...
