okay - this isn't clear enough for me ...

I have Live Suite 8.1.3 installed OSX
with a folder size of 900Mb

I have gone with the 'program only dmg' route to the latest version

I now have Live Suite 8.1.4 installed too
with a folder size of 400Mb !!!

Now the Default ...

For the record
The culprit was a max file called 'transport' which is part of a distribution for ambisonics called sPan.lib
This was in a folder I believed to be outside the Max5 search path but which sneaked into the M4L path !

Hope that (hours of testing by elimination) helps anyone looking ...

I wonder if any other M4L users have a problem with the step sequencer M4L midi object - it only runs for me in edit mode ! When in Live run mode it sits there doing nothing - ie it's losing the clock - i can see that the transportation patcher is the engine - it just stops when in run mode!!

No problem - you were provided with a serial number by Cycling '74 - I found mine on an email after I pondered the same issue, being an iLok user too. Be sure to enter the one for 5 and not 4 !

ps Search your mail for the string "Serial number:" - that might help

Looks like this is the end of the line then - unless there is someone out there who knows if it's possible to re-allocate the channel numbers in core audio

The issue is the annoyance of having to remember that the channel numbering of outs is staggered by two - e.g. i know that my in/out pair on 7 ...

Ins
1-8 = 1/2 3/4 5/6 7/8
S/PDIF = 9/10
(I also get an option for Mix1 inputs on Channels 11/12 through the Core Audio - these are not Physical Ins, but a sum of Mix1 inputs ...

To be fair to the ableton guys, this is actually a restriction of the way the way core audio handles the multi i/o designation

i'd settle for the problem Tarekith describes where the main outs are 11/12 (presumably a windows user then)

Because Core Audio assigns chans 1/2 to the main outs it ...

I have indeed renamed my channels through this route - this is ONLY applicable to the MOTU apps - like CueMix front end e.g.
This is great and shows how simple it could be.
If MOTU did a ub version of AudioDesk it'd be simpler in that too - but they don't ...

The issue is the numbering of channels in OSX core audio...

analog outs 1-8 show as 3-10 .. and so on
