If you don't need your Mac Pro right this second, wait until Sept. when 10.6 comes out and by then the new machines should start trickling in to the refurb section.All the new graphics feature (Open CL etc) will probably work on newer models only, knowing Apple

Considering I bought, installed and authorised Ableton Live 8 ages ago why is it still trying to be authorised on my machine ?

That is to say, it seems to go through the authorisation ...

I will be getting one later this year as MBP is going to be used as a desktop only.

Apple has drank too much of their own kool-aid, my MBP has the "ELP" issues with the first key not registering and my wireless drops out bigtime.They release a fix for the keyboard today and its 10.5 only, WTF? ----Vista may suck, BUT 10.5 is the Win98 ME of today.

Don't forget with Bootcamp, you can have both worlds at full native power.Applecare is a definite before the first years up as others have said.

Morphines is really bland to say the least, cameleon5000 is cool especially since i have a computer worthy of its use.

Either XP Home/Pro just be sure to have Service pack 2 on it.I just scored a 15.4" 2.4 myself and XP is damn fast on this machine.
