Re: Where has Simpler gone?

Simpler has vanished from my Library. I think I may have dragged it to another folder in the list by accident but can't find it now. The device still exists but I can't find the presets any more. Help!

OK I found the Simpler Folder. But because of the folder structure I can only drag it to ...

Re: Missing the beginning of imported (mp3) files

I fail to see what significance this statement has:

''mp3 files of beats or spoken word at sensible levels that don't fade in''

I didn't know if it was significant, but I thought there might be a possibility that Ableton tries to auto-crop samples with silence at the front & might get it wrong ...

There might be another clue there.
Dragging from the Ableton browser, or Windows explorer, or even pasting the file into arrangement view gives the same result.

Now the entire file should play.
Yes, tried that too. No dice sadly, it's just not loaded fully. Thanks for your ideas though, much appreciated.

Re: Missing the beginning of imported (mp3) files

It could be that you have automatic warping enabled in your preferences. Probably set to 'beats'.
Have a look at the waveform of the file after loading. Do you see a bunch of warp markers on the clip?
You're quite right - I did have auto warping on, but the sample I'm trying to import right now is ...

Missing the beginning of imported (mp3) files

Does anyone have any idea why it might be that when I load samples into Ableton (mp3 files of beats or spoken word at sensible levels that don't fade in) Ableton completely ignores the first 250ms or so? It extremely annoying to have to load them into a seperate editor to insert silence at the ...

Re: Not a great start :/

Thanks for your prompt & reassuring reply, Cezband. I finally got them all loaded up & am onto the Session Drums install now, which is thankfully going much more as I'd expect it to.

With some instruments it took even longer than 10 minutes for the package to be recognised & for me to be able to ...

Not a great start :/

I have a boxed version of Suite 8, which after installing upgraded to 8.2.1.

I'm trying to install the Essential Instrument Collection 2 but this apparently straightforward task isn't going at all well. Most of the time, when I drag an alp into Ableton to add it to the library, Ableton just hangs ...
