some other options:
copy your recorded midi to a drum rack, put the samples (or multiple impulses) into c3 - c4 in the drum rack to match impulse notes, (might not be an option if you have a lot of impulse automation recorded). basically replace the impulse with a drum rack.

Re: Audio Effects Rack Issue - Live 8 Akai Professional APC Ed.
Individual effects (and Instruments) have a default setup so you can drag them in without choosing a preset, Audio Effects Racks (or Instruments) are really varied, you have to pick a specific one from the subfolders to drag that in.

Re: How to you performing musicians use Live; songs/sets?
My current live setup (prepared set, improv set will use a cue mix, operators, and some lame looking laptop drag n dropping)
1 big set, 2 blank rows between songs, use scene launch on one of the first few rows to set BPM and usue midi dummy clip to set drum rack to correct area of samples. then I go ...

Re: DIstortion
When they say 'warp method' they mean on the selector for the clip: either beats, re-pitch, textures, complex, etc. They each can sound drastically different. If you just reinstalled ableton, your default warp method might be 'beats', you can try 'complex'.

Re: that faaat sound
try cutting out everything with EQ8s only letting a few frequencies through of each element, if it doesn't achieve your elusive phatness on the mixdown its not gonna master into phatness, thats too late in the process

Re: CPU Intensive Ableton Effects
OK, i ran some quick tests on my not-new MacBook and here is my list right now. This was by no means an accurate scientific test. My CPU was at 4% CPU playing a complex warped loop and would spike from little to none with multiple copies of the lowest group, but spiked up to 7% with a single copy of ...

Re: CPU Intensive Ableton Effects
Thanks, never thought of the Auto-Pan to be processor intensive, I can definitely lose some of those. Yeah, I love Terakith's racks too, but have had to use more stripped down effects live.

CPU Intensive Ableton Effects
I have a large, effect heavy live set I'm trying to make more CPU efficient, what are the most CPU intensive native ableton effects? if there a post here i'm missing feel free to point it out. I'm also using multiple routs to gates from a send channel, and that is pretty resource intensive, but it's ...

Re: APC40 how to make it stop changing "focus"
Also, you can right/cmd click "lock to control surface" so the knobs will always use the same rack or device.

Re: Device ON/OFF using a control surface (as in APC40)
also, in my experience on-off on some effects will cause a clip sound when used real time, it might be better to use a rack and different chains if you experience this. specifically delays/reverb/resonator.

Re: Best MPC-style workflow
I've been trying to try out a more MPC-like workflow after seeing how an old-school hip-hop friend works. I use a Korg Padkontrol (for playing the beats) and an APC40 (navigation/interface/tweaking). I'm not very familiar with how the MPC maps into Live and what your options are, but I'd start with ...

Re: Cool sounds after hitting Stop - know how to use in-song?
i'd try recording it in session view, hit stop where you want, set up a track to record the output of the track you like w/ monitoring off, then arm that new track and go to arrange view and record PAST where you hit stop and see if that works.

And buy a small label despenser on your local stationary or office stores, to label the functions that you've changed...LOL It's quite helpful.
These are cool, but i prefer to either print them out on label paper or scotch tape them on, so i can use crazy fonts like mummified or monkey love! http ...

Return 4: EQ to get only low Frequency from Drum Tracks for routing back into sidechain gating and compression
what do you mean by this actually? what sort of sidechain magic are you onto? ;)
I have a return track, with about 200hz and up filtered out, so i get just the bass drum hits out of a ...

Re: How do you setup your return tracks in live?
This is basically my live setup, but I start out all recording like this as well
Return 1: external Holy Grail Reverb
Return 2: external Delay + Distortion pedals (for tweaking on the fly)
Return 3: Ableton Low Cut Resonator/Delay rack for dub type spring sound
