I have the same type of problem with my new dell xps 15. To horizontal scroll i have to pinch to H-scroll and two finger gesture does nothing. Ableton guys basically put it off on laptops not being standardized???? But my laptop touchpad works with every other app.
I upgraded to 9 after buying ...

Two finger gestures not working but Pinch scrolls intstead
I recently bought the Dell xps 15 4k touch. Bought ableton 9 suite upgrade and it's running windows 10. Two fingure swiping use to scroll through time line/effects window/ mixer/ etc. now it does nothing and the pinch with scroll windows up or down and side to side...... 8O what the hey!
