I posted one of these earlier in this thread but since someone asked again:

I'm playing double bass and standing in all these vids. I'm either sending program change, midi notes, or midi cc to pan right or left with one of the keys on the Softstep:

http://vimeo.com/channels/gtmbass

The most recent 4 videos are the ones using the softstep standing.

I believe I saw a youtube video where they say that the surrounding pads are disabled, while you wiggle/dance on one pad... so it shouldn't be a problem that you accidently hit another pad.

Maybe somebody has experience on this already.

That's exactly right. I posted about this feature in my review thread. You set one of the 6 modlines on a preset to 'other key pressed' as the source, then just don't assign anything to that modline. As long as your foot is putting pressure on that one pad, it doesn't matter if you hit another one because nothing will happen.

Oh, excellent, thanks. I'll check those out. Sorry for missing the earlier post.

I'd have to say between that and the fact that surrounding pads are disabled whilst anotyher is in use kind of knocks my last qualm into a cocked hat.

so now I simply wrestle with the GAS issue...

regarding the multiple keys pressed issue, there is a switch in the settings menu of the SoftStep editor which enables "Multiple Key Mode". This lets you press multiple keys at the same time. This setting is turned off by default, so whichever key you press first, no others will be affected incase of accidental touching. In my opinion this is one of the most helpful features, especially when using x/y direction and pressure modulation.

I reckon it'd be more fun with it on and the special shoes!

Definitely. But, just one special shoe. On one foot. For maximum effect.

Hi KMI people, i have had a stream of bad and weird experiences that i will try to list in the most non confusing way that i can.

First i bought the long awaited soft step. went through the steps to set up and once i got into it more i realized that some buttons were releasing and would stop sending signal to the SS software at random times often from only one specific side of the pedal, i tested this in your preset for notes and a piano sound. One button the 9 would latch for about 5 seconds then turn off, randomly.

So i took it back to Moog audio and they eventually got me another. I was told by Sarah that i may have had put the wrong driver with the wrong software. So i redownloaded .031 and VJ1 and now i have the problem that the presets that loaded last time don't load now but when i load them manually and use your presets with the piano sound i still have releasing when im trying to hold notes but only on a few buttons now and no latching!!!!!!!!! yay but that was replaced by this interesting problem..
I take button 1 i set it up for source= Foot On gain at 127 Table= 1 lin destination=cc also tried note set Device= soft share
Now if i map this to a clip in ableton it works to activate the clip and i can press it a few time but then it shuts down the SS software. Also if i go back into midi mapping in ableton and press another clip it say that this will interfere with previous mapping EVEN though im not pressing the pedal any more and the sensor view is not showing any activity. Telling me that the software is sending out surges of midi information or maybe the pedal is. I did stop it from shutting down by pressing the overdrive command in the edit dropdown but this did not stop abletons cpu meter from peaking out randomly when i push the button. I really would like some help. Also a high frequency buzzing when the back lights are turned on which i checked for in the last piece that i had because im work in quiet environments. And this one is much louder. Maybe this is all an electrical problem??????? I need to resolve this. Why are the buttons stopping even though my pressure is not changing and only on one or two sides of a button and only on two or three buttons all set to the same parameters? Why does the software surge the Cpu? And why is the midi info constantly being sent to ableton even when the button is depressed and the SS software is not indicating acitvity? And why aren't the presets loading as they did before?

Thank you
Taiowa
