hey, im having a great fuckin time. can't hate on a guy for that!

i was supposed to "ignore all the message boards and forums" but i occasionally pop in the tech forums such as KVR / Ableton etc etc... but ...

here's the story: i won a mix contest recently for a slot supporting a night in the uk with deadmau5 headlining.

fantastic i thought and started preparing my set for the big night...until tonight when the manager of the club informs me that deadmau5's agent won't allow any other ableton set-up on ...

i.e. when a audio / midi clip is playing ... i'd like to be able to insert a cue point or flag which would tell another clip on another channel to either start playing / stop playing / loop / and so on and so on... that'd be fun

- Midi Sysex
- OSC transmission / recpetion (through clip based events)
- Internal controllers / LFO's / Forumla editior (to attach to Live or other VST params)

Deadmau5 is a member of the Ableton community, why don't You ask him what he uses? :)

lol... jueat read up on this.. been busy lately.. not much time to check the forums... im almost exclusively using ableton now... loving it to bits. gotta buy ...

im having massive problems with midi and PDC... as in... that "track delay" in MS is completely wonkey....as in i can pull back a midi tracks delay to some 300ms... doesnt seem to move ... or i need to sometimes go -98 ms to get midi to trigger about 2ms early... which is different almost every time ...

really cool!! Is that the beatrepeat when you press the buttons to stutter the snare/kick? or is that a different effect?

a mixture of both beat repeat and a plugin of ours called Lucifer.

the beat repeat i use on the bottom buttons (the ones that glow red) just for holding 1/2 a bar of a track ...

that was actually my first time there, theyve called me back for another show on the 25th... just getting some new stuff together for that ...

well sure, i realize that.... im really looking to getting one, possibly sometime this week, but like i said in my post, i was just curious if anyone's here been using one with live and is happy with it :) ... im sure the application of it will vary ...

If i was sober and rationally (which is hard), I would buy a PC with Core2Duo,
2 GB Ram and two HDs for about 2000 or even less, put away the other 2000
and buy a new computer in 2 or three years.

Doing this, you will have a really powerfull and "up-to-date" Audio-Computer
for the next 5 years or ...
