Cue points in clips.

Post by deadmau5 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 12:39 pm

i.e. when a audio / midi clip is playing ... i'd like to be able to insert a cue point or flag which would tell another clip on another channel to either start playing / stop playing / loop / and so on and so on... that'd be fun :)

Well you can sort of do that kind of thing with follow actions although not with clips on different channels. It would be interesting to extend follow actions with user definable scripts or something, so a follow action could really be any kind of action in the entire Live environment.

you could create a clip a blank clip in the channel you want the clip to be launched from

lets say you want the clip to start playing at measure 65.1.1 or whatever
Create a blank clip looped for 65 with a follow action of next and start that playing at the same time as your clip in the other channel

you could save a bunch of these clips as 8,16,32,65 measure templates etc and just drop them in above your clip

hopefully see you this friday in Edinburgh mate - its my birthday!
