I want to use M4L to make something operate like the Reason ReDrum to control the Ableton Drum Rack:

As it is controlling the Drum Rack (or any Midi Instrument) it can just be a Midi Effect and there is no point having a full ...

I have Ableton Live 7 Suite and want to upgrade to Ableton Live 8. Do I need to buy the Ableton Live 8 Suite Upgrade? or Just the Ableton Live 8 upgrade? I'm not after collision or Latin Percussion at this time but I would still like to retain the rest of the suite. Thanks.

3. Integrated step sequencer
But instead of this being a plugin it should be a view choice in the midi editor view :
Piano roll (command+s+1) ; default view
Step (command+s+2) ; x0x0x view -808 ,909, 303 etc. (with accent and slide ! )
CV (command+s+3) ; knobs and sliders -monophonic only ...
