I currently be able to open and work with my 2004 Logic Pro files ( i did'nt use Live at this time)
It's a great thing and for a recent show, i was able to correct all the mistakes and produce enhanced mixs of the songs ...

AIF files on osx keep the megatags of the mp3 file after conversion.

I use to rip my CD to AIFF for that unique reason.

The WAV files loose the attributes of the original mp3 files.

Same feelings here. I practice sampling since 1995 and this is the best news for a lot time ago.

I don't use Ableton enought but i'm a user of Logic since v4.
For me, the main problem is always external plug ins. That's why i try to limit my use of external plug ins : it cost me less money and i don't have to upgrade each of them.

For synth, i try to keep all the synth bounced to audio files ...

I buy a brand new MacPro2,66 this summer (reseller destocking theses units at a good price).

From a G5 2x1,8 it's a very huge improvement., but the 2,8 OctoCore seems more powerfull and the MacPro line may be upgraded on 2009. The 2,66 MacPro are great computers but now they 're two years old ...

Same problem here, the most efective and fun is to find someone who want to collaborate with you. For a couple of tracks or an EP.

I never test the rewire method, so myabe i'll not really help you.
But enabling plug-in delay compensation in Logic Pro can cause somme major delay in some case if you try to run midi instruments in the same time.

Try using the new low latency mode in Logic Pro 8, it'll bypass all plugs wich create ...

Screen definition is very minimal, so it may cause some problems

Before the release of the album, JUSTICE usually did dj show (not live show). They played a mix of differents songs they like, with some of thier tracks.

They made their first live show few months ago only, when the album was released. Justice is supposed to use Ableton Live for these live acts ...

My only suggestion will be a way to desauthorize live on a computer via internet, so if you want to transfert your licence, i'll be more easy.
