hi there,
Thanks for your response.
Not sure I follow you about holding a key? You mean on my keboard?
But it then plays a sound...
My Audio and Midi preferences are set properly, which I did when I opened it as a stand alone.
I'm sorry, this is probably really simple!
Thanks anyway

Recording Absynth 5's live audio effects in Ableton
Hi gang,
I'm trying to record with the effects in Absynth 5 within Ableton, but I can't find how to record.
I know how to do it if i open Absynth 5 as a stand alone without ableton but somehow I can't make it work when I open it as an audio plug-in within Ableton.
Or can it not be done?
Many ...

Re: Microphone question with the Saffire Pro 24 DSP
haha, thank you so much.
My mistake was to think it was the hardware as you say, so only looked at the forum for questions related to the Saffire...
But thanks for taking the time to point me in the right direction, i might have been in there for a few hours at this pace!

Microphone question with the Saffire Pro 24 DSP
Hi everyone.
Things had been going too well lately, on my way to actually do something that vaguely approaches music.
But, that was until I installed the Saffire and tried to play with the mic.
Now I might just be completely incompetent here, but when I plug the mic on the 1st slot, it only ...

Re: Recording music in ableton - kit recommendation
hold on, quick last question.
@rbmonosylabik
Do you mean I can plug the MPK in the saffire through the normal usb cable I already use to plug it to the laptop?
I thought I'd need a midi cable to go from the keyboard to the saffire.

Re: Getting started with the Saffire 24
Thank you so much guys, much more than I was expecting.
Ok, so I have a firewire 800 success! (thanks for the tip on how to get the info, amazing!).
So it would seem I need a cable firewire 800 to 400.
Like that one?

Re: Getting started with the Saffire 24
Thanks guys.
I bought my Mcbook pro in may last year, i guess not that recent in Mac's world. Do you think it will have a 800 port? And if so, do I still need a cable as I think the saffire only comes with a 400 cable?
I will have a look, I just realised I bought the saffire pro by mistake, I'm ...

Getting started with the Saffire 24
Hi everyone,
Sorry, this is a dummy question, but I haven't been able to find the answer for it anywhere, probably because its so dumb. Anyway, here goes.
I've got a recent Macbook pro running ableton 8.
I've got a MPK49 and a shure58. No monitors, just headphones.

Re: Recording music in ableton - kit recommendation
Thanks scaper, that's interesting.
Do you think it makes a big difference? I've bought the Focusrite already but can always sell it again.
I'm never going to plug anything more than my keyboard and the mic in it and probably won't use it to perform.
It's coming tomorrow, i'd better not open it ...
