Re: Apple silicon

put on a different hat and look at this. what about the touchscreen experience with Live? what can the hive mind come up with to make Live's GUI experience optimized for fun with an iPad? leave it as is? what size to plan for? I think it could be greatly improved. my main computer is a laptop with a...

Re: Apple silicon

I know that they have a spot for ‘recommended for use on these devices’, but a lot of naive people attempt to use the apps anyway, and then have a poor experience. I have no problem with that. that was an angle I was after with desktops going after workstation performance. I do not have any idea wh...

Re: Session view drums 2 bars long. How do I record a 16 bar midi bass part?

nothing. you stopped too soon, keep playing. just let the 2 bar clip play and your recording can be 10,000,000 measures long, there are no restrictions in this area, give it a chance.

whatever it is, this is easily solvable.

Re: Crackling then latency shifts

someone posted on here recently that their mac was fine for a while then got sluggish for a few months then suddenly got better. his evaluation was that it felt like some update was taking forever to upload and install. given that you're into custom PCs then you're probably comfortable in digging in...

Re: Instrument Rack Plugins opening?

the rack instantiates the plug-in, so Live has to get it ready for data processing ASAP. maybe if you turned off the plug-ins then saved the rack as a preset things would go smoother for you. the same use case has to apply to a live performance where the artist needs stuff to get up and running ASAP...

Re: prefx audio routed track stopped recording suddenly

the tidy little fadeout was done by a controlled algorithm, IOW it doesn't smell like the digital signal just crapped out and failed. how long does this fadeout last? Live can put TINY fadeouts at Clip boundaries when it records, was it that? or was it a longer fadeout like half a second? some proce...

Re: Ableton Live 10 not receiving Audio signal or Midi

go back to huge buffer sizes.

there could have been computer issues, you're clear with that.

it could have been that you set up a wireless network then your congregation showed up and crashed the network by connecting to it because people cannot go an hour without checking their phones.

Re: Basic AKAI APCmini script for lightning feedback

one path is to search the max4Live library, I have a few different devices that do stuff like this. I don't use them but I was curious how they were implemented. I have an APC, I can try stuff for fun. this would start by disabling the device as a Control Surface and using MIDI mapping. with max4Liv...

Re: Apple silicon

you might gain more peace of mind by not feeling obliged to repeat yourself. yes, I've made my point, I should shut up and let the ideas fly. please do not get sidetracked by me, there's no point in someone coming along and shutting down an idea thread, that's bullshit, it's wrong and leads to noth...

Re: Apple silicon

As this merging of Apple OSes continues, I don’t see why Live wouldn’t run on an iPad 3-4 years from now. if EVERYTHING Ableton has to offer could be done on an iPad there's no f-ing way they'd keep my interest as a user. I want desktop quality audio software developed on workstations. only because...

Re: Alesis Strike MultiPad vs Roland SPD-SX Drum Pads

SPD-SX owner, I never comparison shopped, you know more about that area than I do. I wouldn't mind playing with mine to answer any questions you have with it working with Live. I'm a guitar player, I bought it because it was on sale and for a 10+ years I've been wanting those pads for 10+ years and ...

Re: Why doesn't breakpoint snap to grid? / How to adjust a breakpoint by typing in the value – please help!

are you asking how to avoid automation controls from snapping to the grid? check the manual, you'll learn the right terminology and find an answer to your question. tip - right click in an area to get these options. there are no options in the menus at the top of the screen or in the preferences to ...

Re: Apple silicon

I’m curious. Do you have an iPad, and if so which model? none. never owned one or borrowed one for a short time. J.A.F.O. (just another fucking observer). the OP does say iPad devices so my experiences with phones has no bearing. TBH I haven't seen a friend/coworker using one for quite a while to g...
