You can use this to send Midi Time Code over a network.
Best way I've found to sync computers on a network.
That won't help you for doing tempo changes though.

Re: Help with a simple coloring clip patch

I've worked around the whole "changes cannot be triggered by notifications" two ways. You could use a metro object that periodically sends out a bang to pass through the data collected by live.observer, or you could use a midi note on a live clip that goes into max. Thanks for sharing, didn't ...

Re: Can I delete the live.path after assigning id to live.remote

I have a rough work around for this where I name the tracks or devices with a specific name or prefix. Then when I query Live for track or device names, I can sort them by prefix, or select them by name and Max can will always use the right one.

This way if I move things around, or open different ...

Re: device viewing with Live.object

"You have the function select_device in the Song.View class; so just use that one."

Yeah, thats what I'm doing, but then I have to arrow back and forth to control the device I actually want to use.
I was hoping there was something slicker.

Re: device viewing with Live.object

Okay thanks for the response. I'm familiar with the LOM and alot of this is available premade in the the Live.API resoures folder. But I'm still no closer to my solution. If I have this:

device viewing with Live.object

I've been using the Live.API explorer patch to find various paths.

How would one send a command to view a specific device?

You can make the view jump to a specific track,
but if I have several devices on a track, I can't actually jump to the device that I
want to see?.

The viewing functions for ...

Will They ever fix this Looper Glitch?

I've written Ableton support several times about this problem on several of the releases since Live 8 came out and it has still not been fixed. Whats the deal? I can't get support to give me answer on this problem. Whats the deal?

1. Use only two audio tracks with no efx.
2. Drop and fire an audio ...

Re: Cross fading scenes in Live?

In order to crossfade to a different tempo, I generally run a looper on the master with a crossfade inside a rack. I record a loop, fade over to it, launch my new tempo, then crossfade back. Works really well.

Re: Best way to sync two laptops

We struggled with syncing two laptops running Live with lots of tempo changes and transitions for YEARS. The solution:

Buy an old MOTU AV Timepiece on Ebay (I got mine for $80), run it standalone, and sync your computers with Midi Timecode. It is the only solution I've tried thats always rock solid ...
