Re: Live 11 not recognizing old analysis files?!

Do you they load as expected in L9? Yes, everything loads as expected in Live 9, with the correct saved analysis file configurations.

(Weird Note: the clips that I warped with Live 9 load up fine with their analysis files in Live 11. It's just the songs that I saved as unwarped that have this ...

Live 11 not recognizing old analysis files?!

I just upgraded from Live 9 to 11.
I have hundreds of classical and ambient songs that I saved as clips in various library folders. For each clip, "Warp" is off (since they are beatless songs), and I've set particular start and end points, as well as adjusted the gain. So each one of these songs has ...

Re: splitting bassline

because you are summing the multibandcomp signal with a phase inverted copy of the same signal, of course they cancel each other
they would cancel each other even if you turned off the splitter
you must sum the multiband signal with a dry signal (not going thru the splitter) to test the ...

Re: splitting bassline

i did little test aswell and the multiband compressor splitter doesnt really seem to cancel out with a dry inverted phase signal

just take a look at this project

i set up two channels with the same drumloop

on the first you have a audio effect rack with the multiband comp ...

Re: splitting bassline

You might enjoy polarity null testing signals to learn what processors change. Just send the output of the signal in question to a bus, & send the original unmodified signal to the same bus but reverse the polarity before hand. With live use the utility tool for this task. This will show you the ...

Re: splitting bassline

One thing to note is that a frequency crossover is never transparent. In the analog world, a capacitor or inductor that make up a crossover cause phase shift starting about an octave above the crossover point. In the digital world, the algorithms that cause a separation of the frequencies have a ...

Don't miss this.

Thanks JPGA!

I'm still waiting for a reply to this post to Rhythm Mind:
"I'm a newbie and don't know what you mean by transparent. Please provide a quick explanation and what advantage it offers? Also, someone wrote a comment on this page on your web site identifying a bug, "in ...

Re: splitting bassline

wow, I never realised just how much the Multiband Dynamics plugin colors the signal! I always presumed that it would be flat.

Did you watch this video?

http://www.quantizecourses.com/pages.php/?p=895

Presumably, if you turn the dynamics "amount" knob to 0, the signal is flat. (see around 1:20 ...

Re: splitting bassline

I've been looking at these racks and admit I don't understand why it would be considered more effective than using the multiband compressor approach (if you only need three bands like I am using).

Also, could you explain the difference between the regular and 24db version of these racks?

Thanks ...

Re: splitting bassline

Here's a video that explains how to do this in detail:

I've been using this approach but it does seem to color the sound a little bit. Where are you guys setting your low and high cut points?

Does anybody have any other favorite approaches to ...

Re: Mapping bpm to midi to whole values..

dj_blueprint wrote:yup, that actually does work.

so, basically, 128 steps=128 bpm range.

i think i did 50-178 bpm.

I am trying to map this as well to get whole numbers. I used 50-178bpm, and now it goes in half numbers (90, 90.5, 91, 91.5, etc.). How do I get it to go in just whole numbers?

Thanks Tarekith...

I'm trying to register for abletonlivedj.com, and can't seem to get past the anti-spam question, "Name one Ableton instrument"

I've tried putting in the names of a lot of different instruments from the Essential instrument collection2, and it keeps telling me my entries are not ...

Newbie needs help with DJing-- looking for a Skype mentor

Hey Folks,

I've just switched to Live from another program, and am getting through the learning curve as quickly as possible. I've watched dozens of online tutorials on YouTube and elsewhere, and have been playing around with Live for a couple of weeks.

I have a ton of little questions about how ...
