Yes, there is a way this can be done with some third party software. You can watch a video of Kid Beyond on the main Ableton site where he explains how he uses a certain piece of software to convert MIDI information into multiple keystrokes in Live.

Our band is performing in December and using Live for the first time on stage. We have a 'crash reboot' action plan though! We are fortunate enough to have 2 MBP's plus 2 external firewire drives with seperate OSX partitions, all fully mirroring each other.

In the event of a crash, we can reboot ...

I made a Live set filled with just program changes 1-127 for our old website ... it makes things even easier, as you can just drag and drop program change clips from the Live browser into any midi track.

I guess there must be a reason why the Abletons have set up program changes this way? Live is such a genius piece of software that it seems very odd program change data cannot be amended across the timeline, like you can in Logic for example.

I watched an amazing band the other week that incorporated a franking machine into their live set! During the middle 8 of one of their songs they managed to stamp approximately 20 envelopes AND get them to the post office before 5pm! I think they were using the Waves Frankmaximiser V2.0 plugin.

My cat has got it's whiskers stuck in my Projectmix. Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can remove him from the mixer without causing damage to the automated faders or snipping his whiskers?

Or if you wish to do this automatically throughout a song - record the program change on a track on the timeline where you want the change to happen.

As far as I can tell, it is not possible to actually record multiple program changes within a single MIDI clip. Live does not allow program changes ...
