It's not listed in my input channel dropdown when I try to route from a VST: https://imgur.com/a/XRo5iOm. Tried on another machine, same issue. Tried a different VST, same issue. What am I doing wrong?

Cool- I'll try that, thanks. I installed Live and Maschine on another mac and it found the VST3 no prob, so that's a relief.

This is an odd one- Live successfully scans my Maschine 3 VST3, but I can't find it in anywhere in my library. My default.als has an instance of Maschine 3 but it says plugin not found. I mapped the play button from my controller to Live 9 using Edit MIDI map. It's now sending a controller message upon button press AND release, which makes it stutter. How do eliminate the message being sent on release?

I think choosing a groove template from a dropdown menu feels too much like working in an Excel spreadsheet or something. I'd rather have a knob that I can turn like in Reason. But not to divert too far from OP's point- note lengths should not be changed.
