You're right..that does keep Live from crashing..but I still can't get any sound out using core audio..However, live works fine as a rewire slave under ProTools. As I wrote to technical support, curiously Peak works fine with CoreAudio.
Also, re another problem people have had with Waves.Peak uses ...

Live 3.0 not opening in OSX as standalone
Can anyone figure out why Live 3.0 works fine as a rewire slave with ProTools 6.1 as host, and refuses to open in standalone(or rewire master) mode? I'm running a dual ghz PPC 4 with system 10.2.8 with a Mix+ Digi system. I have a segmented drive and Live works fine in System 9.2.2 but, of course ...
