Inserting audio before the 1st bar?

Hello ableton family. I have I think a relatively simple question. Im interested in finding out if there is a way to insert audio before the 1st bar of a song im working on, the reason being is that the music I need to be quantized begins on the first bar, but the audio sample that im introducing th...

Ok so it sounds like I am probably the only person who skratches in the thread so Ill give a little information about the history and the "whose who" of the skratch world. So from 1996-2001 is considered by many in the "know" to be the golden-age of skratching, at least in the terms of new technique...

Sound hiccuping / stuttering in Live 6?

Im getting ready to perform a set of mine live soon, and I wanted to play out my compositions in arragement view so I can screw with them improv style. The problem Im having is that during certain parts (usually when new tracks come into the song) there will be a half-second stutter/glitch with no a...

Well from someone who currently lives in Phoenix I would say it's really not that bad here. Electronic music scene is practically DJs only, which is the one thing that may help people like us, if your interested in playing original electronic music live. There is a decent sized art community / indie...

Soundcard / external gear / HD::Making computer start slow?

I recently picked up a m-audio firewire solo, (Im also running an external HD, midisport 2X2 and an Axiom 25 all running out of 3/4 USB ports) & ever since attaching it to my new laptop, the startup procedure & overall "feel" of the laptop seems to be significantly slower... Kinda disheartening seei...

Well all music that you are trying to make is comprised of 12 notes unless your trying to make "eastern music." Try your best to understand that within these 12 notes that are a finite amount of combinations that could possibly be explored, all this means is that it "composition" is not as difficult...

Feedback:: M-audio Firewire Audiophile + M-Audio Axiom 25

Just picked these 2 up yesterday, was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with either of these 2 products. The m-audio has the same pre-amps as the internal audiophile 24/96 card, which I thought were actually pretty damn clean sounding. I just basically need to know if any has horror st...

Reccomendation on a cheap audio interface (no hum)?

Sorry for posting, I just spent the last 6 hours looking through this forum with "search" and other random clicking to find an answer but Im still pretty much in the dark. Let me explain what I'm looking for. I have a new HP DV9000T Series Laptop: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T7200 (2.0 GHz) 25...

Adjusting the delay after hitting midi keystrokes in Live 6

When I was using Live 5.0.2 there was a midi delay sync function that let me adjust the delay on my midi keyboard so it's delay wasn't apparent. I just upgraded to live 6 and when configuring my midisport 2X2 I noticed that there is still a significant delay between my key presses, something that wa...
