Just saw that 10 was going to be released. Got super excited, and did a thorough look through the new features for some kind of comping... nothing. ;_;
Some of the new audio editing tools do look sweet though. Perhaps comping will be in a 10.X update? One can only hope. Meanwhile, with the Black ...

Re: Akai Pad Quality = Complete Garbage
Fair enough.. What are you thinking of getting instead? I've had a korg kontrol and really liked it. I now have Maschine mk ii and a push and would say I prefer Maschine for finger drumming, but push is still pretty good for that. And I've got to say that the new trigger finger looks like it might ...

Re: Akai Pad Quality = Complete Garbage
Getting the MPD 18 is the whole of your problem here. the Korg PadKontrol. Madchine Mikro, the new available soon trigger Finger, even the the newish MPC Element would have all been a much better purchase. The mpd18 is the oldest lowest spec of all the pad controllers out there, and the pads are ...

Akai Pad Quality = Complete Garbage
I'm pretty new to Ableton/midi controllers. My first was the Arturia MiniLab. I really liked the drum pads and figured I'd get a controller with more pads that was hopefully more sensitive.
So, I bought an MPD18 with aftermarket MPCStuff pads.
Worst.
Purchase.
Ever.

Re: Synth Multisamples?
Multisampling of HW synthesizers is a real art. Anything beyond raw waveforms...like actual patches...requires a lot of preplanning. Unless you have software to do it for you (Redmatica RIP) it's a thankless task.

Synth Multisamples?
I'm quite new to Ableton and Sampler and all that, but I was kinda' surprised not to see any users sharing multisamples of their hardware synth presets. Aside from a few commercial libraries, all I really found was this.

Re: Musicians no longer socially relevant?
By the way, another reason for this "dumbness" in american and british "posts" (trolling or OT songs) is this: generally angloamericans completely ignore international music (for "angloamericans" I mean all the people living in U.S., U.K., Australia, etc.: english mother-tongue citizens, not "race ...

Re: Buying an Old Version of Ableton Live
Thanks for the help guys. I was hoping to get the serial # for about $50 and just upgrade right away from there, as it would save quite a bit of money vs buying outright, but unfortunately the guy checked online and it's already been registered, and he don't seem to know who the original owner was ...

Buying an Old Version of Ableton Live
So there's this guy that's got version 4 of Ableton Live. I thought it might be a good base to upgrade from (I don't have Ableton yet), however he doesn't seem to know if it's been registered or not.
If I can't confirm whether or not it's been registered, and he doesn't have access to the original ...

Re: Impulse/MPK Arpeggiator VS Ableton's
They are probably nice if your using the keyboard with hardware, but with software it really doesnt buy you anything. You could rack up ableton's arp or any arp vst/au, map the parameters you want and then have much better control over the arp then using the ones in one of those keyboards
The one ...

Impulse/MPK Arpeggiator VS Ableton's
Anyone have any pointers/insight as to the advantages of a built-in controller arepeggiator? I'm in the market for a new controller and I'm kinda' stuck between the Axiom Air, Akai MPK, and Novation Impulse.
The Axiom Air doesn't have an arpeggiator, but is my favorite as far as keyboard feel is ...
