The iPad is a great device, it does exactly what it says on the tin, it isn’t designed to replace your computer, instead it is designed to make certain tasks very easy.

Personally I found the iPad great for surfing the web and email, these are daily tasks which I have to complete quite regularly ...

Looking for the best mic for ABLETON. What do you recommend?

CONGRATS on this accomplishment and keeping it alive.

The print quality is so-so, compared with my main printer, but I won't be printing anything crucial from my iPads anyway.

I've just bought a HP Officejet 6500A Plus, easy peasy, no problems.

Apple have their own proprietary printing protocol called 'AirPrint'. Only a few printers support it at present - HP is one of those that do and you can see if your model is on the list at the Apple web site

I dont know about on the ipad but I do use my iphone to write,record audio and video,calculator.
To print anything I email my docs to my computer and do it that way.

Wow. I didnt know he actually has been on this forum. I knew he used Ableton from a Ustream video of him in the studio.
