Using a separate sample editor instead of Abelton? Why?
OK, so I just downloaded Wave Editor so I can cut my samples quicker to use them in Live. Is there honestly a point to this? I've noticed that it takes the same amount of time as cutting it in Live, so why do so many people swear by it?

Re: Macbook Pro 13" i5 or i7?
Ableton Live is not a 64bit program. So basically it doesn't utilize 4 cores. Until it is able to run in 64-bit, ur number of cores doesn't make much of a difference. A 17in is really really big. Bigger than you would think from looking at pictures. And they're heavy. Better off with either a 13in ...

Re: Ready for a MIDI controller(s) for producing. Suggestions?
wow thanks guys. Since I'm producing, I don't think I'm going to need to lunch clips very often. If I do though, I can probably make do with just keymapping on my Mac's keyboard. The APC40 just looks like it's so much fun to use that it's tempting... As for right now, I think I'm going to grab a 25 ...

Ready for a MIDI controller(s) for producing. Suggestions?
I'm brand spanking new to the forums and have been playing around with Ableton for a few months. Now that I'm more comfortable w/the DAW, I'd like to get a MIDI controller or two to improve my workflow. I'm not really into the whole live DJ'ing bit. I'm more into the production side of mashups and ...
