Re: Massive vs FM8 vs Zebra 2?

Zebra 2 is the most underrated VST of all time, in my humble opinion. Barely anyone ever mentions it but it is so tremendously powerful, yet simple and intuitive at the same time. The overall idea behind the UI is genius. You can make it be as simple and as complex as you want it to be. Honestly tho...

Re: How does ableton look on the new MBP retina display?

Takii posted screenshots in the other subforum: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=181256.

I was looking at buying one, but Anands review scared me off a little bit. You might be interested in this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6023/the- ... y-review/8.

Re: New Macbook Pro Retina Display Support

Thank you for posting those screenshots! I was looking all over the place for a screenshot of Ableton on the new display! I'm really torn between the bottom-spec Retina and the top-spec classic. I just can't help but wonder how long it will take developers to update their apps for the retina display...

Re: Ableton products 33% off

Looks like the upgrade price is currently $387 USD for the download-only version and $434 USD with the box (which includes EIC2 and Session Drums). That's a fair amount less than I paid for it in April. Doh! UltimateOutsider--thanks for taking the time to look that up for me and responding. I reall...

Re: Ableton products 33% off

Can someone tell me what the upgrade price is from Live Lite to Suite 8? I have a Live Lite from my Novation SLMKII purchase, but I've never installed it because I've been a long time user of another PC DAW and I didn't want to waste one of the only 2 installations just to check the upgrade price (w...

Will Ableton look like garbage on the new MBP Retina display

Anyone snag one of these yet? If so, can you take a full-res screenshot with Ableton on screen? This part of the engadget review really scared me: The primary Apple apps -- Safari, Mail, the address book, etc. -- have all been tweaked to make use of all these wonderful pixels. Sadly, little else has...

Re: Slice to MIDI question - sliced midi blocks are off beat ?

When you slice by warp marker position it creates each slice starting exactly where the warp markers are set but it doesn't actually warp the audio and give those chunks in the result. It's really just overloading the use of warp points as a way to set some arbitrary slice points. For something lik...

Slice to MIDI question - sliced midi blocks are off beat ?

Hey everyone, this is really driving me crazy, maybe because it's late, but it's really throwing me off... I dragged a song into a session clip, set the start marker at the beginning of the first transient and set original tempo of the song, right click - warp from here (straight), then created warp...

Re: How to get that warm/analog sound (e.g. MPC) out of Ableton?

Ah, man I didn't even think about routing the sound through I mixer. I have an old Stanton 2-channel "battle-style" DJ mixer and I think this idea could work. For some reason the thought of doing that just never occurred to me  , I just assumed everyone kept everything digital and used effects...

Re: How to get that warm/analog sound (e.g. MPC) out of Ableton?

Yes, I'm using a Dell E1505 with a Sigmatel 92XX sound card. I really need a new system. I thought that maybe a tube effect could do the trick. Sometimes the explanations in the Ableton manual make me a little :?. I've been at it a few months, so I haven't had time to do much experimenting. Thanks f...

How to get that warm/analog sound (e.g. MPC) out of Ableton?

Hi, I am very, very new to the production thing. I have picked it up as a hobby, pretty late in life I might add. I like to think it is a better use of my time than video games and TV. Anyway, I have mostly used it to make hip hop style beats with sampled drums and various plugin for the other sound...
