You know you could set up two midi tracks, one with a sampler, and one with just the recorded notes to trigger those samples, then you pass the midi output of that track into the one containing the sampler, and set that track to always receive midi info (set it to monitor "in" instead of auto ...

one very nice trick to create good breaks is to write several 4 bar loops(or whatever time scale you work in) and to have em on one drum track mapped to different keyboard keys/pads and have launch quantization set to 1/8 (unless you work in a different time scale) and trigger them in different ways ...

one way I use it is if you have a sound and it's too loud at some point and ends up clipping the whole track, I look at it and try to eq out the loudest frequency provided it's not the critical one to the sound itself... usually a lot of sounds have a TON of extra frequencies that aren't even needed ...

I've run extensive tests on vista on my lap top and came up with PATHETIC results....


I turned off ALL extra features.... this includes themes printing and administrative services, wallpaper, NOTHING on startup, only ONE program running which is an accurate cpu load analyzer....

I still don't think you have any idea what reactor really means.... think of it as a virtual, visual sound programming environment.... you have virtual "modules" which can be as low module as "numbers" to as high as full on reverb, they will have inputs and outputs which can be inter connected ...

dblue glitch is not what he's talking about.... he's talking about manually sculpted sounds.. dblue uses "standart" effects to produce glitch sound and its result always sounds the same... this is not what minimal is about.

it makes no sence to render and play with loops, it will give you many disadvantages, first of all, you can't easilly edit it... second of all the best part about live pa in ableton is the ability to manipulate any instrument on the go at your desire.... third goes hand in hand with second, you want ...

it's possible but almost not worth it... the problem is that a turntable does not have a 100% constant tempo which means that it will speed up and slow down, which means you will have to manually warp the WHOLE track which can be a big pain in the ass and would take a lot of practice and skill and ...

ya pitch plugin is the easiest way of doing it...

that's one of the key ingredients in music... you might disagree for some music styles like chillout or some other harmonic "pretty" styles.... but the most sophisticated dance music (dnb, dubstep, breakbeats, minimal, two step, idm, goa trance, psy trance...) all seem to become better the farther ...

aha trigger finger, here's a tip, make a breakbeat with impulse, compress it, then set global quantization to 1/8, and map the beat launch to a pad, now start jamming with it....

now take same beat, copy it, shift over the starting marker (in warping), assgn it to another pad..... so on until can't ...
