i think you can do more with the melody. that riff at the head is nice - it's sorta sewn right through the piece. it's like you want to experiment but you also like the tune. imho "pick one" the melody or the experiment and go with that. i actually like the tune. and the experimental aspect is also good.

if this were mine - i'd investigate that tune / riff further.

and really experiment in a different incarnation.

very textural.
