If you enable the Enveloppe Lock (lock symbol, upper right corner of Arrangement window), you can copy clips without the automation.
In order to copy automation only, you have to have the automation on a separate lane. Than select the automation in that lane only and just copy it.

Personally, I never automate send, volume and pan levels. I normally insert a utility device, for which you can set the min and max values. In your case I would insert a utility device on the bus channel. Set the send level at the position that suits the track and automate the volume of the bus ...
