to add to just what i posted:
Using MIDI yoke somewhat solves the problem of syncing 2 instances of Ableton Live. However, you cannot load a third song into this setup with out having the audio stop completely for both programs.

Sadly Rewire doesnt allow 2 sets of ableton Live programs to sync together. if im wrong please correct me, bec i already tried it.

ah now i get it. the 30 scenes per midi channel you were referring to are the actually keyboard keys itself. i have an Ozone keyboard controller/audio interface, it has 25 keys. it's more than enough.

unfortunately, your suggestion would be easy to do if i had only a few clips per song. right now a set that i did consists of about 32 clips, representing different elements of the song (loops, basslines, synth arps, vocals, fx, etc) i 'build' the arrangement in real time ...

thanks to ableton i'm doing my first ever Live PA gig 2 weeks from now. can't believe how inspring this software is. have done about 10 sets already since i started dabbling with it. and the rewire slave function with reason is rock solid!

sometimes some loops arent edited or looped properly when it loads so you have to edit/define the warp points right? if you save the settings for the loop it creates an .asd file for future reference.
it's better to have "create analysis files" on , that way if youre using the same clip in another ...

it's better to copy all your files in the CD to the hard disk, it's not that difficult. normally copying all the files would take about 3-4 minutes or less. when u are finished composing your live set, just hit 'save as Set' and all the files/clips youve used will be saved/duplicated in a new folder ...
