Re: Sequoia vs Sonoma performance difference
I guess that's only for Apple Silicon..
there will be no real (feature) development anymore for Intel based Macs.

Re: Sequoia vs Sonoma performance difference
Slightly offtopic but is there GPU-assisted stem separation on Intel Macs?
On my 2019 Mac Pro it's quiet fast but runs on the CPU only.
Would be cool having it on the GPU as the Mac Pro supports very fast GPUs and even Multi-GPUs.

Re: Investigating Ableton’s Sluggish UI: Tests, Findings, and Fixes
Interesting finds and very well written!
I just tried that on my 2019 Mac Pro with the 12-core Xeon W-3235 CPU and 48GB RAM (running macOS Sonoma 14.8.1 and latest Live 12).
Running 44.1kHz and 256 samples buffer (my ususal setup), I can run 10 groups from bar 33 (other sections seem to be less ...

Good luck with support — I wouldn’t expect any truly helpful advice from them, though.
First off: Avoid using a mixed hard drive setup with both APFS and HFS volumes.
Until about two years ago, I was still running a Mac Pro 5,1 myself, and I managed to avoid those GUI freezes by making sure no HFS ...

Re: Routing UAD and Ableton for Live vocals
The best way would be to do this via the UA Console App, so the FOH would use your two Main Mix Outputs from the Apollo.
Track your Vocals thru Apollo Mic Input utilizing all the effects you need
Route your Live Main Output to one of your UA Apollo Virtual Inputs
Mix everything in Console ...

Anyone using an Intel Mac with Ventura / Sonoma / Sequoia in here willing to help?
Hi everyone,
I need some help in reproducing a bug for Ableton support and therefore need someone to do a simple test with an late Intel Mac, possibly with T2 security chip. That would be one of the following models:
MacBook Pro introduced in 2018 through 2020, excluding MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1 ...

Re: Frustration with Performance/Features
Try disabling your RTX GPU and use only the iGPU, Nvidia drivers may introduce issues.

Re: Bitcrusher-like digital distortion with Complex and Complex Pro Warp Algorithms
Just happened again today, I opened up a project I started last Friday which sounded abolutely fine but today, the warped vocals sound distorted.
Switched from Complex Pro back to Complex and then it's fine again. Really annoying.

Bitcrusher-like digital distortion with Complex and Complex Pro Warp Algorithms
Hi everyone,
I sometimes encounter an issue where, for example, when I try to warp a vocal and select the Complex Warp Algorithm, the track starts sounding like it has a bitcrusher effect on it. Usually, switching between the algorithms a few times helps, but it always happens with Complex or ...

I also guess the iGPU is fine, how much GPU load does Ableton cause?

Re: routing vst outputs to individual tracks
That's totally possible, load some Audio Tracks and choose Input ("Audio from") from the VST track, if it has multiple outputs, you will have a list in the checkbox below where by default "Post Mixer" is selected. If the VST track has no additional outputs, the selection will be limited to

Could it be that your Cue Output is set to a different channel than your monitors or headphones?
