Hey guys,
I've been using ableton to make this video series where I take an object, record the sounds it makes, and make music using ONLY sounds from that object. It's pretty fun and I thought I'd share the episodes I have out right now

Re: Invert button on External Audio Effect...why use it?
Do you have any enabled sends on the track/return that handles the External Audio Effect or in the signal path? If so, that may be enough to cause phase issues. Just disable the sends so Live doesn't have to take additional processing into account, which would add at least one sample of processing ...

Invert button on External Audio Effect...why use it?
Hi,
I'm using the External Audio Effect on a return track to route audio to and from a Strymon Big Sky. It's great.
But I'm seeing an invert phase option and I'm wondering, why would I use this?
I tried going 100% dry on the BS and I definitely heard phasing, but when I inverted, I just heard ...

Re: Hey here's something weird/cool (analog vs operator)
moose, THANK YOU! I tried this and here were the results after 15mins. The analog on the left is with the EXP curves, the right LIN curves like you suggested. default settings and the filters turned off for now.

Re: Looking to add a reel to reel, no idea where to start.
i love the look of R2Rs and wanted to get into it. bought a couple R2R decks. these were in very nice condition and serviced and all that. they still would work one day and not the next, just because they're so frickin old. they are the heaviest things ever too, a real pain to make room for in the ...

Re: Hey here's something weird/cool (analog vs operator)

Hey here's something weird/cool (analog vs operator)
hey, tell me if this is known or not.
i needed to make a drone with one never-ending note, so i used the technique from Angstrom in this thread (bout three posts down)

then i was on my way jamming and 15mins or so later, no drone sound. it had ...

Re: How do make a loop do half or double time using just Push 2
thanks but if i do that there's a split second where the audio cuts out while it's converting from audio to simpler, and that won't work for a live performance. is there a way around that?

Re: FCB1010 Foot Controller, MIDI CCs, & Ableton
that's great to know, I can definitely set this to a MIDI I don't use for anything else. I'm will probably only use this and Push2, do you know if the Push2 is on any specific MIDI channel or uses specific CCs?

MIDI Map Pre/Post Button on Return Tracks
I'd like to be able to control whether my return effects are pre or post fader via MIDI, but these buttons are not mappable. Is there a way around this? I guess in general, is there a way to MIDI map something in Live that is not available in MIDI map mode?

How do make a loop do half or double time using just Push 2
I know you can do this in the Simpler in Push 2, but I'd like to record audio into an audio track, loop it, and the halve or double the time of the clip, without looking at the computer. is this possible?
ETA: these buttons are not MIDI-mappable at first glance. if there's a hack for that I'd be ...

FCB1010 Foot Controller, MIDI CCs, & Ableton
I don't really get how some MIDI CCs are assigned to specific things, and others are undefined. what happens if I assign a button on my FCB1010 to a CC that's predetermined for a specific function? I ask because I have more buttons on my FCB1010 than I have undefined CCs, and I have more things I ...

Problem with MPK Mini MKII and Ableton Drum Rack/Impulse
Hi forum, I need your help if you can.
I have a student who bought the MPK mini MKII to start making music with Ableton. I don't have experience with this device until now. The 8 pads aren't automatically mapped to Impulse which is super dumb, but through the MIDI editor that came with it, I was ...
