Re: Here is my (long) wishlist for Anleton 9.

Multichannel audio for Max4Live - would mean surround sound, live convolution & resynthesis, sidechaining, cross-synthesis, surround granular effects and so on. I really can't get the above mentioned in anything other than Kyma and even then... Kyma is not as powerful a DAW as Ableton.

I'd also ...

Re: Seeking heavy coloration / atmospheric / lofi effects

If your not sure how to build you own algorithms then you could look at using some externals - I like the soundhack ones - http://soundhack.henfast.com/freeware/ and the FFT ease ones - http://www.somasa.qub.ac.uk/~elyon/Lyon ... P/FFTease/

Re: Sample&Hold fx audio device for M4L?

Sample & hold as an effect is fairly new to me

Oh right... sample and hold is an analogue circuit that will sample a momentary frequency and hold it until it gets a new trigger then it will sample another momentary frequency and hold.

Usually it is used by triggering it periodically or on beat ...

Re: Sample&Hold fx audio device for M4L?

There is a sample and hold object called sah~ - it would be pretty straight forward to turn it into a M4L device.

Re: Max 6 is out!

I don't think there is a problem. I did not have to download a new version of M4L. I got Ableton 8.2.6 and then just switched the Max path in the prefs to Max 6 and no problems.

I have used some of the newer modules in M4L and it is fine - here is a basic test just using the new filterdesign ...

multi-channel support.
Automation Envelopes with Bezier curves or ones with bends not just straight lines.
A Pitch Estimation Plug-In.
A Convolution Reverb.
Timecode Ruler.

I love Live - I hope it gets a lot better not just a little better.

Re: setting buffer length with counter rather than argument.

I did try to send a new size message to the buffer~ while it was recording and it did work. I used large messages like one every 2000 ms but it worked. You'd have to do more then, maybe a clocker or something to set the size message dynamically - the buffer needs to be cleared everytime before you ...

Re: setting buffer length with counter rather than argument.

I think you might have to set a limit but it can be very large. Yo could set a very big buffer~ size say 600000 which would be 10 mins and then a user set option for even bigger? In Pro-Tools you have to set a max recording time limit.

Out of interest why do you need an infinite buffer~? I am not ...

Has no one suggested using an effects rack and Utility Plugin??? 8O
Yes, the first responder did; he mentioned the thread in which the guy who originally came up with this idea explained this trick.

Ahh I must have missed it when I was looking through the post.

Thanks very much. This is the one ...
