Yes (at least I think so). Automapping maps an external controller to the parameters of Live's devices.

There is no way (as far as I can tell), via automapping (or creating a manual map) to reverse this process to send CC messages to an external / hardware instrument.

Or am I mistaken about this?

The ability to add Continuous Controller MIDI Effects (i.e. a knob with assignable CC send and receive numbers) would allow for:

- easy sending of CC data to external instruments
- remapping of CC data (by setting send and receive to different CC numbers)
- creation of reusable MIDI Effect Racks ...

I've got TRACK, SYNC, and REMOTE checked for my external ports, and I can happily send CC messages to my external gear (i.e. I can set up a clip and draw in cutoff, resonance, etc. and it all works perfectly).
