Re: changing midi note outputs for each drum pad
i dunno why it's so easy to change the pitch of midi notes for an entire channel but somehow it's not possible to do them individually through chains? the i-o section of drum racks has a "midi out note" selector for every chain, but it only outputs the chosen midi note for whatever device is ...

Re: changing midi note outputs for each drum pad
yes but that would require that i load an instance of sampler into each of the 16 pads every time i switch kits. that's why i think it's important to control the midi using a different channel and not through sampler, so the kit can be hotswapped without affecting the midi assigned notes.

changing midi note outputs for each drum pad
i have a controller with 16 pads and i would like to easily assign which midi note they play so that i can choose which of the 128 samples in sampler they are assigned to.
for example, have the C1 play a A4 and the D2 play a E3 and so on. the pitch tool in the midi effects section can change the ...

driver error compensation value is not consistent
i have my midi and audio tracks routed through external hardware effects and back into the line-in. i'm trying to set a driver error compensation value to something fairly exact, but each time i test the value by recording, the sound files align at slightly different positions...sometimes slightly ...

Re: any way to turn simpler volume down to -inf?
i don't have any timing issues or anything going out of sync with any of the tracks. i tested this a few times with some latency heavy plugins and their delays were all compensated for. like i said, it's just the automation that is clearly out of sync when there is any latency-inducing plugin before ...

Re: any way to turn simpler volume down to -inf?
i don't think trying to avoid out-of-sync tracks is that silly. the rack mixer envelopes do have a delay if there is a plugin on the chain (for example, a 3rd party compressor on a drum pad in drum racks). if the compressor is on the entire drum rack and not on the individual pad, then the delay ...

Re: any way to turn simpler volume down to -inf?
automation latency from plugins that isn't delay compensated? as far as i know, envelopes within actual devices/clips are not affected by this which is why i'm trying to avoid using other volume knobs.

any way to turn simpler volume down to -inf?
i'm editing clip envelopes (not track envelopes) and i noticed that the minimum volume on simpler is -36 db. is there any way to completely mute the envelope on some parts of the clip without having to use an envelope outside of the actual device (i'm trying to avoid automation latency)?

modifying the CS sequencer for launchpad: note length values
i'm trying to find a way to get better control over note length when inputting notes into the CS sequencer from the launchpad. my idea was to be able to hold down a note (for the start position) and then pressing another note of the same pitch (for the end position). for example, if i wanted to ...

logic as time/tempo/sync slave to ableton?
hi there, i read that logic can slave to MTC (midi timecode), so does that mean there is a way for logic to follow ableton's tempo and start/stop transport function? if this is possible, how is it configured (not just in logic)? i've been googling this for 2 days but couldn't find any clear answers.

routing external audio outputs on a mac
i'm on a macbook running os x 10.6.3 with an external usb soundcard (just a line-in and a line-out).
here's what i'm trying to do:
zebra2 softsynth ---> audio to ext. out ---> external hardware effects ---> line-in (usb soundcard) ---> audio track ---> master ---> line-out (usb soundcard).
i have ...
